The Quays & The River LiffeyThe River liffey is really the lifeline of the city. It cuts Dublin in two, and you are either branded a northsider or a southsider, depending on which bank you choose to live. While the River flows out to sea at the Dublin Port, it is affected by the tides, and is constantly rising or falling, a fact which is easily measured against the numerous bridges crossing the river. The river is the stage for events around St Patrick’s Day, and also for the occasional ship which moors along it’s banks. Further upstream, the river provides for activities like rowing.
